We at Queen of Angels Parish extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family at the death of your loved one. Thank you for honoring your beloved’s faith tradition by choosing a Catholic funeral. It is our hope that the following information will assist you in preparing a meaningful and prayerful funeral service.

Here are some things to discuss with the family after contacting the office to make an appointment with Fr. David:

Will there be a Vigil?

A Vigil can be scheduled for the night before the funeral. This is an opportunity for friends and family to share stories about your loved one and is usually held at the mortuary. A rosary can be added to the vigil.

Will we need a Mass with communion or a service without?

Mass is preferred but if the majority of mourners are not catholic a service can be scheduled without communion. This also changes the music selections, as less hymns are needed.

Will we want a graveside service?

The final committal is traditionally done at the burial site.

The family will need to make decisions about the readings and music as well.  We are here to assist in those selections.  Although we believe we will be reunited with our loved ones, the pain of separation is very real.  Thank you for allowing our parish to assist you in your time of need.
