Detention Ministry

The Detention Ministry is a component of the Restorative Justice Ministry facilitated by the Diocese of San Diego.

Detention Ministers visit the imprisoned weekly and bring the liturgy of the word and opportunity for sharing and prayer to those who wish to participate.

The County of San Diego currently operates 7 adult facilities and 4 juvenile facilities.
 

To Join this Ministry

You must first attend the training at the Pastoral Center. To sign up for training go to www.sdcatholic.org/restore. Once you have completed the training you can be assigned through the Diocesan Office of Restorative Justice
