Communion Minister

The “ordinary” ministers at Mass are the ordained clergy. The Diocese allows extraordinary ministers to help the clergy distribute Holy Communion.

To become a communion minister you must have already received the sacrament of Confirmation. Communion Ministers must have a firm belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and show proper reverence.  After Mass, Comunion Ministers take a few minutes to cleanse the vessels.

Communion ministers must be able to dress appropriately as follows:

Slacks, Dress shoes and socks, belt, collared shirt, jacket and tie are encouraged.

Nice slacks and shirt/blouse (or) Skirt (of modest length) and shirt/blouse (or) Dress of modest style and length

No jeans, No shorts, No t-shirts, No tennis shoes, No flip-flop sandals, No beach attire.
Back, shoulders, midriffs, and undergarments should be covered.
